Promael completes manufacture of a high-capacity main LV switchboard with automatic mains/generator transfer and 2,500 A busbar

Promael has completed a new main low-voltage switchboard designed for an installation where service continuity is non-negotiable. The system transfers automatically between the grid and a generator set, and is built on Schneider Electric PrismaSeT P enclosures: a modular, well-compartmentalised architecture with real room to grow.

Key features

- Incoming mains breaker: MasterPact MTZ2 H1 2,500 A, 4-pole, with Micrologic 5.0X, per-phase energy metering and ULP communications. - Automatic mains/generator transfer: TransferPacT Active 1,000 A, with timed generator start and automatic transfer management. - Cooling: dedicated 1,600 A outgoing feeder protected by ComPacT NS1600N. - Secondary outgoings: ComPacT NSX and NSXm with Micrologic protection. - Breaking capacity: up to 50 kA, to reinforce safety and service continuity. - Busbar system: Linergy LGYE 3,200 A, with vertical and horizontal distribution designed to cut losses and leave space for future expansion.

Monitoring and protection

The switchboard includes toroidal transformers for residual-current monitoring, MX shunt trip coils for remote actuation, OF, SD and SDE auxiliary contacts for status and alarms, and Micrologic 4.1, 4.2 and 5.0X protection with metering and energy supervision functions.

Designed with the future in mind

The installation can remain operational if the grid fails thanks to automatic transfer with the generator. The switchboard has been sized for direct connection to existing busways, resolving the mechanical and electrical requirements of that integration from the design stage. PrismaSeT modularity and reserved expansion space allow the installation to evolve without major structural changes.

The project delivers a robust, scalable electrical distribution solution prepared for both current needs and future increases in power and distribution capacity.
