Promael takes part in Adam's new data centre at Parc de l'Alba

Adam has begun construction of its fourth data centre at Parc de l'Alba, scheduled to enter service in 2027. Promael is delivering the design and commissioning of the critical electrical network that underpins the facility's availability and safety.
Adam has begun construction of its fourth data centre at Parc de l'Alba (Cerdanyola del Vallès, in the Barcelona area). The new facility — around 7,500 m² and 8 MW of power, with a modular design and commissioning planned for 2027 — strengthens the company's capacity in Catalonia and Barcelona's role as a digital hub for southern Europe.
Promael is collaborating on the engineering and execution of the project's electrical infrastructure, a decisive layer for the availability and safety of any data centre. The new facility contemplates 100% renewable power supply, high-efficiency cooling and photovoltaic integration, with an initial phase of modular halls and around 4 MW of starting capacity within a total planned capacity of 8 MW.
Switchboard design, busway routes and earthing network
Electrical engineering — switchboards, power routes and the earthing network — shapes operation, maintenance and the ability to grow without rebuilding the installation. The data centre switchboards are designed to deliver high power, ensure service continuity and support safe operation in redundant architectures. Prefabricated electrical busway routes have been specified for data centre use because of their high reliability, fewer on-site connections, better use of space and easier expansion and scaling compared with conventional large-section cabling.

Manufacturing in Promael's workshop
In parallel, switchboard manufacturing has started in our own workshop, so the solution moves from drawings into production with full traceability and assembly standards. The collaboration with Adam at Parc de l'Alba continues Promael's track record in data centres and critical infrastructure, combining engineering, manufacturing and project execution.
